In-Depth Questions

When did you start streaming and who or what influenced you?

  • I started streaming originally 3 years ago, but really, going on a year this September.

What do you like to stream and when do you typically stream?

  • I have setup a "thematic schedule" where each day allows me a theme to fit a game of my choosing in. There is always a day or two devoted to story games as well as expanding to new streams coming this fall. I typically stream late night Pacific time starting around 8:30 PM or later and once school is over, every day but Tuesday/Thursday.

What platform do you stream from? Where do you publish your content?

  • I stream from a PC as well as use a capture card to stream PS4 and Switch games as well. I currently only have vods go up on Twitch and don't do any further publishing of my content elsewhere.

What is the very first game you ever remember playing?

  • Super Mario Bros, Duck Hunt, and Pong at my grandparents

What about you and your stream do you feel sets you apart from other streamers?

  • You ever had pocket cookies of joy from anywhere else on Twitch? There's only once place to get 'um ;)

What are your goals for your streaming community?

  • I want to develop a community that can build relationships and accept each other for all of who we are. A place that those who come know you're good and safe to relax and "just be you", whoever that is, without judgement. Also a place that is open to deeper conversations not only for the person wanting it, but others to learn and expand their own perspective as well.

How do you personally balance your streaming with work and your personal life?

  • Currently streaming has had to take a back seat while the summer (3 kids out of school) and my final classes have hit me hard. Generally speaking, I have a little white board for the week and I plan out things I'd like to see done each day regarding my stream and aim to get it done. It helps me to break apart bigger projects into manageable pieces that I can see the progress clear as day by the check marks, giving me the encouragement to keep going.

Have you encountered any hardships with streaming? How have you worked through them and what advice do you have for your fellow streamers?

  • I have worked through quite a few hardships including and not limited to: Burn out, content quality, equipment/success envy, scheduling, personal/work/stream life balance While each one is different, what I do remains the same: Take time to myself to look inward and try to find the root of why I feel the way I do. If/once I figure that out, I plan out the steps to adjust/change that based on the tools I have. Then if I still don't feel confident in the solution, I (try to) look outward to others for help/input based on what I've figured out.

What are some of your long term goals outside of your streaming career?

  • I want to one day open a cafe/coffee shop that also "moonlights" as a community center for the activities commonly held at comic/card shops as there is no good place within 30 minutes of my home that offers them. (i.e. Friday Night Magic, DnD sessions, tournaments, etc.)

Do you have any streaming tips or suggestions for your fellow True members, or anyone looking to start streaming?

  • One of the best things you can do is "just hit that go live button". From there, it's going to take time (probably lots of it) to figure out who you are, what your stream is, and all that wonderful stuff. I would suggest once you feel somewhat established in your stream to ask yourself these 4 questions about your channel/stream:

  1. Who are you?

  2. Who is your audience?

  3. How do you reach your audience?

  4. What makes you unique?

Is there anything else you'd like us or the community to know?

  • I love you all and think you're amazing human beings! We all struggle, but when we are willing to work together (even with just verbal support) we can make individual struggles less suffocating <3
