In-Depth Questions
When did you start streaming and who or what influenced you?
I believe I started streaming in September of 2018. My boyfriend, Ryan, was the biggest influence for me. I had wanted to stream for a long time and he was just like "DO IT" so I did. Every step of the way he has supported me and helped me. He helped me build my first PC and has bought me so many things to improve my production quality. He is also in every single stream and has over 25 days of watch time?? He's amazing and I love and appreciate him so much.
What do you like to stream and when do you typically stream?
I have a lot of games that I like to stream and therefore consider myself a variety streamer. I play Deathgarden, Overwatch, The Forest, Don't Starve Together, Jackbox games, Skribbl.io, and CAH. I stream Monday 5-9ish, Friday 6-10ish, Saturday 2-5 (viewer choice games) 7-10 (community night). All central time!
What platform do you stream from? Where do you publish your content?
I stream to twitch only and don't currently publish content to any other platform. I've considered publishing videos on YouTube but I don't really vibe with googles algorithm.
What is the very first game you ever remember playing?
The very first game I remember playing was Sonic on my dads Sega when I was very young. The first game I remember playing and appreciating was Halo CE, which is probably why I'm such a Halo fan.
What about you and your stream do you feel sets you apart from other streamers?
I am very shy and awkward so I don't know if there is anything personally about me that sets me apart from other streamers. If anything, I think that my weirdness and the crazy things I say set me apart to some extent.
What are your goals for your streaming community?
I want everyone to feel welcome when they come into my stream. I want people to know that they can be as weird as they want and as long as they are being a decent human being, they're welcomed, accepted, and appreciated.
How do you personally balance your streaming with work and your personal life?
This is something I have struggled with since day one. It's not easy to make sure that you're putting in the appropriate amount of time and effort into all the things that are important to you. For me, I have a set schedule. I have my set streaming days, I work 9-5 M-F, and time outside of that is for my boo and family.
Have you encountered any hardships with streaming? How have you worked through them and what advice do you have for your fellow streamers?
Burn out is real, and streaming can be really straining on your personal relationships, especially when most of the people you play with are the opposite sex. For burn out, I just try to keep things fun, if I get bored with a game I STOP PLAYING IT for a while so that the next time I pick it up it's fun again. With my partner I've learned to set boundaries and make sure that he feels included in my stream by setting up special commands and roles for him, including him in games, and making sure that I respect his wishes and concerns when it comes to people coming into my chat and flirting with me.
What are some of your long term goals outside of your streaming career?
I would like to expand my graphic design business and find a career in it. I want to be able to support myself and my household better because in the future I would like to have a house and a family. I also would like to start working on my physical health again, before I started streaming I was eating healthy and going to the gym 4 days a week. I've gotten lazy and I spend way too much time sitting at my computer desk.
Do you have any streaming tips or suggestions for your fellow True members, or anyone looking to start streaming?
Keep things spicy, don't keep doing things that you don't enjoy because life is way too short to be miserable. Make sure you're spending time with your loved ones. Don't fall into the sunk-cost fallacy, it's never too late to find your passion in life. If you need help with something, don't be afraid to reach out to someone. There are people who love and care about you.
Is there anything else you'd like us or the community to know?
If you every need someone to talk to, or vent to, I'm your girl. I have buckets of knowledge and helpful life advice because I haven't always made the best decisions in life and have definitely learned from my mistakes.
