In-Depth Questions
When did you start streaming and who or what influenced you?
The end of October '18, I was inspired to stream by watching Desert Bus For Hope.
What do you like to stream and when do you typically stream?
I like to stream whatever I want to play, I do miss doing our Misadventure streams, Hopefully they'll be back soon. as for when, Tuesday at 7pm, Thursday 1pm, and Sunday at 9pm EST.
What platform do you stream from? Where do you publish your content?
I stream on Twitch from my PC. Mostly it winds up on twitch and twitch alone, some tidbits wind up on twitter.
What is the very first game you ever remember playing?
While not the first I ever played The first game that truly enthralled me was my sister's copy OG Pokemon Red. I wound up with a gameboy color and a copy of blue shortly thereafter.
What about you and your stream do you feel sets you apart from other streamers?
I'm not exactly sure yet, I'm still trying to distill that into it's base form.
What are your goals for your streaming community?
For now, simply to grow it. I once it's a bit more established I hope to do more charity streams.
How do you personally balance your streaming with work and your personal life?
I've always spent a lot of time and energy gaming, now I spend a bit of it on streaming that gaming. I'm also fortunate enough to have support from my wife. I also got to spend time with my friends and wife when we were doing our RPG streams. I can't wait to get those back up and running, it helps with the balance, a lot.
Have you encountered any hardships with streaming? How have you worked through them and what advice do you have for your fellow streamers?
Hmmm. So, I have severe A.D.D. which includes Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria. Dead streams are extra rough for me. My advice is to not focus on how many people are there, but on who is there.
What are some of your long term goals outside of your streaming career?
I'm fairly certain I'm at a crossroads in my life where several of my goals seem to be falling into place right now. If it all goes well by the time other people read this: My wife and I will be home owners; I'll be starting a new path in my career at the casino. I've been all sorts of nervous and excited the last month or so.
Do you have any streaming tips or suggestions for your fellow True members, or anyone looking to start streaming?
For my fellow true members, keep being the amazing human beings you are. For new streamers: -Do your homework. It's so much more than just hitting the go live button. -Pay attention to chat. They're here for *you* not the game. -successful streamers without cams and mics are the exception not the rule. -Lighting is under rated, get something, anything. 10$ of lighting is infinitely better than no lighting. -If you're using a headset, your first upgrade should be a standalone mic, not a camera. people will tolerate a bad image or no face cam, but they won't hang around with bad audio. Also invest in a pop filter and a windscreen, they're cheap but worth every penny. if you have a few extra bucks a shock mount is a big plus too! -Post on twitter and insta, and more than just 'I'm live' -Don't worry about your "ratio" -And the obvious, coming from a True Support Gaming Team Leader; Don't fall for the F4F/L4L/S4S bs. -Don't grind yourself to death, If you're "Grinding" odds are you could stream half the time you do now, spend that extra time on networking and content creation, and do better than you are now.
Is there anything else you'd like us or the community to know?
That I think you're all wonderful human beings and that there isn't enough time or space here to express that thoroughly.
