In-Depth Questions

When did you start streaming and who or what influenced you?

  • June 15th 2018 was the first time I tried streaming. I started streaming b/c I told a friend that I started make tech YouTube videos (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC93qSgIPfS8zQlfNAtQkr6w) and he said I should check out twitch instead b/c he thought I was a very entertaining video game player and I might have more fun with it instead of YouTube videos. He was right, I found it more fun to play video games and have people watch me instead of spending hours trying to edit a 15 min video. So I gave up on the tech videos and have focused on Twitch only (mainly due to my limited free time).

What do you like to stream and when do you typically stream?

  • I enjoy playing/streaming 1st & 3rd person shooters and Interactive film/story type of games (wolf among us & life is strange). I currently stream every Tuesday and Friday starting at 9pm(cst)

What platform do you stream from? Where do you publish your content?

  • I play/stream from a PC and currently only publish on Twitch but hope to one day get stuff posted on YouTube when I have time to edit the videos/game play.

What is the very first game you ever remember playing?

  • Pit Fall for the Atari 2600 system

What about you and your stream do you feel sets you apart from other streamers?

  • I think the way I interact with the viewers/chatters sets me apart from other streams, along with my personality, overlays, and notifications. The other big thing I think sets me apart is that every other Friday I do a "Story Time" mode where I use video games to tell a story (still a work in progress) where the viewers are "beings" that are influencing the story by either talking with the character to help him, make things harder for him, or just keep him company. They also can use their "brain waive" powers to make the character do crazy things in the story, such as bark like a dog.

What are your goals for your streaming community?

  • My overall goal is to make people happy, put a smile on their face at least once during the stream, and provide them a safe place to relax and enjoy them self.

How do you personally balance your streaming with work and your personal life?

  • Not sure I have a healthy balance yet but I hope to get this figured out in the near future. I do have to say that my family always comes first over streaming.

Have you encountered any hardships with streaming? How have you worked through them and what advice do you have for your fellow streamers?

  • Since I am still new to streaming I probably have not encountered as many hardships as others have but my hardships include scheduling conflicts and hardware failures. The scheduling conflicts were easy to work through because I just posted on twitter to let my viewers know that the stream was canceled or postponed. The hardware issues were a little more difficult, if I'm still able to stream while I work through the issues I try to find something to keep the viewers entertain such as singing or telling lame dad jokes. If I'm not able to stream while I work through them I post in chat or twitter about the issue and let them know when I hope to have the issue fixed by.

What are some of your long term goals outside of your streaming career?

  • One non-streaming goal is to buy a bigger house for my family to grow in, preferably an acreage that still has access to high speed internet. Another goal would be to make more time to do things I enjoy and hopefully combine them with teaching my kids new skills/hobbies.

Do you have any streaming tips or suggestions for your fellow True members, or anyone looking to start streaming?

  • I don't think I'm successful enough to give really good advice but I would say make sure that you be yourself and only do things that you enjoy. If you are not having a good time then the viewers can sense it and will also not have a good time.

Is there anything else you'd like us or the community to know?

  • I have picked a hard name for people to figure out how to pronounce and I do apologize for that. It is pronounced: Gig (similar to what Quagmire from family guys says "giggity" with a short i as in igloo) On (as in turning on the light)
